The portable oxygen index testing device comprises a case which is connected with an oxygen-nitrogen mixed gas cylinder through a gas flexible pipe; and according to the application method, oxygen-nitrogen mixed gas in the oxygen-nitrogen mixed gas cylinder is delivered to an incendiary cylinder of the case through the gas flexible pipe, then the sample is ignited, the value of a gas flowmeter is recorded, then the value of the gas flowmeter is recorded again when the sample is burned to a marked line, and thus, the value of the oxygen index of the sample can be calculated. The invention has the following beneficial effects: the portable oxygen index testing device has the advantages of convenience in manufacturing, carrying and transporting, convenient operation, low cost and applicability to on-site testing of the oxygen index of a fireproof thermal-insulation material and changes the situation that detection of the oxygen index of a material can only be completed in a laboratory in the prior art.
