The overcurrent protection chip for a power supply comprises a comparator, a reference signal adjusting unit, and a storage unit. The first input end of the comparator is used for receiving a load current detecting signal. The second input end of the comparator is used for receiving a reference signal. The comparator is used for comparing the voltage level of the load current detecting signal with the voltage level of the reference signal in order to output a compared signal via an output end of the comparator. The reference signal adjusting unit is coupled to the second input end and is used for adjusting the voltage level of the reference signal according to multiple setting values of a set of setting data in a setting state. The storage unit is coupled to the reference signal adjusting unit and is used for storing a corresponding setting value in the set of setting data when the compared signal outputted from the comparator in the setting state is changed, and controlling the reference signal adjusting unit in an operating state according to the corresponding setting value.
