The liquid crystal composition comprises a component A, a component B and a component C, wherein the component A is formed by dielectric positive compounds shown in general formulas I and II; the component B is formed by compounds shown in one or more general formulas III; the component C is formed by compounds shown in one or more general formulas IV. The liquid crystal composition provided by the invention has excellent properties and has the characteristics of wider range of nematic phase temperature, proper dielectric anisotropy, proper optical anisotropy, high charge retention rate, high response speed, low rotary viscosity, low consumed power and the like, can be applied to liquid crystal display, and is especially suitable for fast responding active matrix TN-TFT (twisted nematic-thin film transistor) and IPS-TFT (in-plane switching-thin film transistor) displays.
