Problems solved by technology

[0006] However, the existing Segment Routing technical solution does not consider the mixed networking scenario of SR routers and non-SR routers
by figure 1 The scenario shown is an example, see figure 2 As shown, assume that C does not support the SR feature, but according to the ISIS and OSPF protocols, on the control plane, if an ISIS or OSPF node receives an unknown type length value (Type Length and Value, TLV), it will still send the TLV For its neighbor nodes, that is to say, when C receives a TLV containing SR-related information (such as node segment Label), although it cannot recognize it, it will still spread to surrounding neighbor nodes, such as B and D; however, in the data plane Above, when B forwards the MPLS packet received from A with the destination Z (the top label of the packet is the node segment label corresponding to Z, that is, 65) to C, since C does not support the SR feature (that is, in the data plane does not have a corresponding MPLS forwarding entry), therefore, C will discard the received MPLS data packet
[0007] In summary, when SR routers and non-SR routers are used in a mixed network, packet loss will inevitably occur due to routers not supporting SR features , so that MPLS data packets cannot be correctly forwarded in a mixed network environment

Embodiment Construction

[0044] In order to support mixed networking scenarios of SR routers and non-SR routers, in the embodiment of the present invention, each node in the segment routing network is connected through a traditional network (that is, a non-SR network), so as to facilitate incremental deployment of the segment routing network.

[0045] The embodiments of the present invention are preferably described in detail below in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

[0046] refer to image 3 As shown, in a hybrid network environment, the forwarding process of MPLS data packets is as follows:

[0047] Step 300: After receiving the MPLS data packet, the first SR router in the SR network determines whether the next-hop router supports the SR feature.

[0048] In the embodiment of the present invention, each SR router in the segment routing network will advertise its SR capability in the entire IGP domain through the IGP extension, so that each SR router can automatically know whether the next...

Abstract

Disclosed are a method and device for forwarding an MPLS data packet, which are used for realizing the correct forwarding of an MPLS data packet in a mixed networking environment of an SR network and a non-SR network. The method comprises: when obtaining an MPLS data packet to be sent, a first SR router in an SR network judging whether a next-hop router supports an SR characteristic or not; and if it is determined that the next-hop router does not support the SR characteristic, the first SR router encapsulating the MPLS data packet into an IP tunnel, and sending the encapsulated MPLS data packet to the next-hop router, so that the encapsulated MPLS data packet is forwarded to a second SR router based on an IP routing table. In this way, the correct forwarding of an MPLS data packet can be completed in a mixed networking environment of an SR network and a non-SR network, thereby meeting the requirements of SR network incremental deployment.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to network communication technology, in particular to a method and device for forwarding MPLS data packets. Background technique [0002] Segment Routing (SR) is a control plane that uses the Interior Gateway Protocol (IGP) to transfer the global or local multi-protocol label switching (Multi-Protocol Label Switching) corresponding to the SR router (SR router). Switching, MPLS) labels, typical IGPs include Intermediate System to Intermediate System (IS-IS) and Open Shortest Path First (OSPF). [0003] The data plane forwards MPLS data packets based on the MPLS labels distributed by the Segment Routing control plane, so as to simplify the operation and maintenance management of MPLS networks. [0004] In order to facilitate the understanding of the segment routing technical solution, the following uses an example in which the control plane distributes labels with global significance. [0005] refer to figure 1 As shown, the egre...
