Embodiment Construction

[0027] The invention relates to a method for electrochemical disinfection of water by passing said water through at least one electrolytic cell housed in a housing provided with means for delivering and removing said water, and Utilizes direct viricide, bactericide and bacteriostatic effects associated with oxidation at the anode and reduction at the cathode and supplementary indirect bactericidal and residual bacteriostatic effects associated with the action of oxidizing agents produced by electrolysis of water.

[0028] The method of the present invention is essentially characterized in that it comprises:

[0029] a) Using an electrolytic cell comprising an anode and a cathode, both plate-shaped and parallel to each other, the opposing catalytic faces of said anode and cathode have the same surface area and form a symmetrical inter-electrode space, with no preferred path or short circuit;

[0030] b) along the entire length of the channel of the water to be treated, between...

Abstract

The invention relates to a method for electrochemically disinfecting water by passing this water through at least one cell contained in a housing provided with means for conveying and removing the water. The method according to the invention is characterized in that it consists: a) in using an electrolytic cell which comprises an anode and a cathode, both in plate form, and mutually parallel, the opposing catalytic faces of which have identical surface areas and form a symmetrical inter-electrodes space with no preferential path or short circuit; b) in creating, between said plates, along the entire length of the passage of the water to be treated, a turbulent flow that has the effect of alternately and successively casting any microorganisms contained in the dissolved substances against the anode and against the cathode so that they experience the deactivating effect caused by the strong variations in pH that there are between the electrodes and the additional bactericidal effect upon contact with the O2 and OH radicals formed at the surface of the electrodes.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a method for the electrochemical disinfection of water, without the addition of any chemicals, by passing the water through at least one electrolytic cell housed in a housing provided for delivery and removal The water device, and utilizes direct viricide, bactericide and bacteriostatic effects associated with oxidation in the anode and reduction in the cathode, and supplementary indirect bactericidal and residual bactericidal effects associated with the action of oxidants produced by electrolysis Bacteriostatic effect. Background technique [0002] Patent EP1597202 with the same applicant describes a method: [0003] - it consists of passing the water to be treated continuously through an electro-peroxidation module, by means of catalytic electrodes, whereby the water undergoes an electrochemical treatment; [0004] - On the one hand, the direct effects (virucide, bactericide and bacteriostatic effect) acting on the ...
