Abstract

The invention relates to a pneumatic expander braking / clutching assembly and a manufacturing method thereof. The pneumatic expander braking / clutching assembly is provided with a first power transmission member and a roller provided with an annular frictional surface on the periphery. Arch-shaped back-lining block parts are closely arranged in the peripheral direction of the frictional surface of the roller at intervals and are adjacent. The back-lining blocks are provided with braking frictional pads on the radial inner surface. Inflatable expanding rings surround the back-lining blocks and press the blocks inwards in the radial direction after being expanded, and the frictional pads abut against the frictional surface of the roller. Baffles are arranged at the ends of the back-lining blocks and extend to space among the blocks adjacent in the peripheral direction so that zigzag paths used for dissipating heat from the frictional surface of the roller in the radial outward direction can be formed. The baffles enable inflatable expanders to be isolated from heat, which allows the frictional surface of the roller to be operated at high temperature, and by means of power transmission / dissipation, the expanders are prevented from being overheating.
