Abstract

The invention provides a method and device for flexibly processing a link between network elements. The method comprises the following steps that: a first network element detects a link load parameter of the first network element; when the link load parameter of the first network element satisfies a pre-set condition, the first network element sends a flexible link change request to a second network element on a first link and negotiates with the second network element so as to flexibly change a link between the first network element and the second network; and the first network element receives a flexible link change response sent by the second network element on the first link and initiates a flexible link change operation request to the second network element according to the flexible link change response, such that flexible link change between the first network element and the second network element is completed. The flexible link change between the first network element and the second network element is realized; therefore, the link between the network elements can be flexibly changed according to practical requirements; and lack or waste of link resources due to resource change of network elements can be avoided.
