Abstract

A system and method for generating a return label for merchandise returned from a buyer or consumer in a first country to a merchant in a second country. The name and address of the consumer in the first country where the merchandise is to be returned and merchant or seller information including the merchant identifier is received. An address for receiving returns of a merchant or seller in the second country is accessed based on the merchant information. One or more machine-readable identifiers for use by the carrier in the first country and for use by the carrier in the second country are generated based at least on the consumer information and the information used to route the returned merchandise. Generate return labels for items returned from consumers to merchants. The return label can include a customs declaration for the item as well as a machine-readable identifier.
