The environment-friendly additive comprises the following raw materials in parts by weight: 20-35 parts of sweet herb, 15-20 parts of meson, 10-15 parts of an eucommia ulmoides extract, 7-12 parts of orange peel, 5-8 parts of fennel powder, 4-7 parts of ginger, 4-6 parts of ground cinnamon and 3-5 parts of dried tangerine or orange peel, wherein the sweet herb, the meson and the orange peel are soaked in water for 2-6 hours, boiled with strong fire, and decocted for 10-40 minutes with gentle fire. The environment-friendly additive disclosed by the invention can be used in manufacturing of the wool textile, is safe and environment-friendly, does not affect the properties of the wool textile, and meanwhile is free of smell, skin irritation or influence of dyeing of the wool textile.
