Abstract
The invention relates to the field of poultry breeding, in particular to a method for improving the slaughter performance of Jinghai yellow chicken by MSTN genes. The method includes the steps: extracting genome DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) of a sample to be detected; amplifying the genome DNA by a specific primer with the sequence shown as SEQ ID NO: 1-2 to obtain 186bp target fragments; performing SSCP (single strand conformation polymorphism) analysis for the target fragments; developing colors by silver staining after gel electrophoresis to obtain DNA SSCP spectrum; screening individuals with gene type AA according to banding patterns of the atlas. Statistic analysis indicates that the slaughtering weight, the breast muscle weight, the leg muscle weight, the eviscerated weight and the semi-eviscerated weight of the type AA individuals are remarkably higher than those of type GG individuals (P<0.05). The homozygotic type AA individuals can be fixed in offspring, and the detection method is simple, rapid and not affected by external environments.
