Abstract

The invention discloses a method for cutting a diamond. The method comprises the following steps: firstly, cutting a table facet, eight facets and eight bezel facets in the crown, and cutting two pairs of upper girdle facets between every two bezel facets; then, cutting pavilion into a regular hexadecagonal cone; and finally, cutting 32 bottom facets at the culet to form a heart shape. According to the cutting method, more facets are further subdivided on the upper and lower girdle facets based on conventional cutting, so that the fire can be smoother and brighter. The cutting method ensures that the table width ratio, total depth ratio, pavilion depth ratio, crown height ratio, culet ratio and other proportions all accord with the evaluation standard, and guarantees that the diamond has excellent brightness, excellent fire, excellent optical symmetry and great optical diameter.
