Embodiment Construction

[0032] The inventive concepts will now be described more fully hereinafter with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which specific embodiments of the inventive concepts are shown. However, inventive concepts may be embodied in many different forms and should not be construed as limited to the embodiments set forth herein. Rather, these embodiments are given by way of example so that this disclosure will be thorough and complete, and will fully convey the scope of the inventive concept to those skilled in the art. Throughout the specification, like symbols refer to like elements. Any steps or features shown by dashed lines should be considered optional.

[0033] In the context of CoAP, it has been recognized that the publish-subscribe approach described above also has advantages. According to at least some of the embodiments disclosed herein, a mapping between these two identifiers is provided. Specifically, a mechanism is proposed to map publish-subscribe based infor...

Abstract

Provides mechanisms for making resources discoverable. A method performed by a resource location map node. The method includes obtaining range information of a local network and location information enabling a specific location of a resource in the local network to be determined. The method includes generating a Constrained Application Protocol (CoAP) resource identifier for a resource based on the range information and the location information. The method includes providing a CoAP resource identifier to a resource directory, thereby making the resource discoverable.

Description

technical field [0001] Embodiments presented herein relate to discovery, in particular to methods, resource location mapping nodes, computer programs and computer program products for making resources discoverable in a local network. Background technique [0002] In a communication network, it can be a challenge to obtain good performance and capacity for a given communication protocol, its parameters, and the physical environment in which the communication network is deployed. [0003] Web protocols such as Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) and Constrained Application Protocol (CoAP) use Uniform Resource Identifiers (URIs) to refer to resources hosted on servers. URIs can be discovered from documents using hyperlinks (eg, Hypertext Markup Language (HTML)), or they can be stored in a directory such as the Constrained RESTful Environment (CoRE) Resource Directory (RD). The authoritative part of the URI includes the address of the server hosting the resource, and the path pa...
