Abstract

The invention discloses a method for breeding a chromatic potato variety with high pigment content. The method comprises the following steps: determining the pigment content; analyzing the genetic relationship; carrying out mixed pollination; screening cross generations; carrying out field screening and pigment evaluation; carrying out variety comparison testing and regional testing on screened later generations which are high in pigment content, and breeding a new chromatic potato variety with high pigment content and good agronomic traits. According to the method disclosed by the invention,the proportion of strains, which are high in the pigment content, in the cross generations can be remarkably increased, and the selecting efficiency of breeding a new variety with high pigment contentcan be increased; the genetic relationship of cross parents of the chromatic potatoes can be analyzed by utilizing molecular markers, materials having a distant genetic relationship can be selected for pairing and hybridizing, and the agronomic traits such as the pigment content, the quality and the yield of the cross generations are increased by utilizing heterosis; the mixed pollination is adopted, the hereditary basis is expanded through a multiple male parent pollination strategy, and the variation types of the cross generations are added while the cross fertile rate is increased.
