Abstract

The invention discloses a method for improving alpha-linolenic acid contents of oil peony paeonia ostii seeds. The method comprises the following steps of (1) collecting pollen; (2) pollinating; (3) collecting seeds: collecting fruits of pollinated paeonia ostii in the step (2), calculating a maturing rate, screening combination with the maturing rate being larger than or equal to 25.0 per flower,collecting seeds, and determining the alpha-linolenic acid contents of the seeds; (4) high-quality combining and screening: adopting the alpha-linolenic acid contents in the step (3) as indexes, andscreening peony variety with the seeds with the alpha-linolenic acid contents being larger than or equal to 160mg/g as an optimal pollination variety of the female parent paeonia ostii; (5) applying the pollination variety: obtaining the oil seeds with the improved alpha-linolenic acid contents. By adopting the method provided by the invention, the alpha-linolenic acid contents of the paeonia ostii seeds can be improved, so that the quality of the paeonia ostii seeds is improved.
