For example, as display dynamic range increases and displays become capable of producing lower black levels and stronger glare, the overall perceived image quality may improve. This adverse effect may be caused by brightness jumps (ie, sudden or abrupt changes in illuminance to which the viewer's visual system needs to adapt).
