Abstract

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for managing storage systems. The method includes, in response to receiving a write request at the storage system, determining whether storage units in the storage system that have been allocated to the logical storage unit are sufficient for data associated with the write request. The method also includes allocating new storage units to the logical storage unit in response to determining that the allocated storage units are insufficient. The method also includes updating metadata associated with the allocation of the storage unit in the storage system, the metadata indicating a mapping relationship between the logical storage unit and the plurality of storage units. The method also includes encrypting the updated metadata. Other embodiments of the present disclosure also relate to corresponding methods, devices, and computer-readable media for decrypting metadata and using the decrypted metadata to restore logical storage units.
