[0095] A power plant in the Manas River Basin is located in the middle reaches and was built in 1961. This power plant is also one of the earliest hydropower plants developed and established in Xinjiang. There are 5 cascade hydropower stations, consisting of 13 hydro-generator units, with a total installed capacity of more than 60,000 KW. Among them, the newly-built first-level hydropower station is composed of 4 hydro-generator units, with an annual designed power generation capacity of 189 million kwh.
