Abstract

A polar code decoder and decoding method. The polar code decoder comprises a decoding unit and a control unit communicationally connected to the decoding unit. The decoding unit comprises m input ends and n paths. The m input ends are selectively connected to the n paths. The control unit is used for sending a first control signal to the decoding unit. The first control signal is used for indicating an SC decoding mode or an SCL w1 decoding mode. The decoding unit is used for receiving the first control signal sent by the control unit, and configuring the SC decoding mode for decoding or configuring the SCL w1 decoding mode for decoding according the first control signal. Hence, the polar code decoder provided by the present application can implement different decoding modes by means of selective connection between the input ends and the paths, so that one decoder can implement decoding with different performance and different parallelism degrees, the flexibility in selection of speed performance is achieved, and two-stage decoding can be achieved based on the decoder to accelerate a PDCCH blind detection process.
