Problems solved by technology

However, the existing technology is difficult to apply in the extremely arid regions of my country, such as the southern and northern cotton regions of the Xinjiang Autonomous Region and the Hexi Corridor cotton region of Gansu Province, because the natural rainfall in these cotton regions is scarce in most years, and the transgenic cotton seeds sown in barren land conditions are often Difficult to emerge, unable to grow normally, unable to carry out follow-up observation smoothly
However, this does not mean that there is no risk of genetically modified cotton in these extremely arid areas, because the natural rainfall in these extremely arid areas is not balanced in time and space. Although it is difficult to conduct wildland experiments according to the existing technology, the risk cannot be completely ruled out.

Embodiment Construction

[0017] The technical solution of the present invention will be further described in detail below in conjunction with the embodiments.

[0018] A method for evaluating the survival and competitiveness of transgenic cotton wasteland in extremely arid areas, which specifically includes the following five parts:

[0019] 1. When the temperature is suitable in spring, sow the genetically modified cotton and conventional cotton on the wasteland where the weeds were dense in previous years, so that the genetically modified cotton and conventional cotton can grow together with the weeds. Use natural grass, no need to artificially sow weeds.

[0020] 2. Ensure water supply so that cotton and weeds can grow normally. Level the wasteland, make ridges, pour enough water, lay film on the ground, sow cotton on the film, and remove the film immediately after the cotton emerges to let the weeds emerge. As the cotton grows, water it in time to ensure the normal growth of cotton and weeds.

Abstract

The invention discloses a novel method for evaluating the survival competitive capacity of transgenic cotton in a wasteland in an extreme arid region. The method comprises the following steps: step 1,sowing transgenic cotton and conventional cotton in a place with dense weeds in previous years in the wasteland when the air temperature is appropriate in spring, and enabling the transgenic cotton, the conventional cotton and the weeds to grow together, wherein natural growing grass is adopted; step 2, ensuring the supply of water so that the cotton and the weeds can grow normally; step 3, adopting natural fertility for soil, wherein artificial fertilization is not carried out, and only the natural fertility of the soil is adopted in a test land, and no additional fertilizer is applied; step4, reducing the damage of investigation activities to the weeds; and step 5, overcoming the influence of cotton diseases and insect pests on the test, and timely preventing and controlling the cottondiseases and insect pests so that the cotton is not damaged. The evaluation method disclosed by the invention proves that the transgenic drought-resistant cotton and the conventional receptor cottonthereof are weak in growth vigor under the condition that the transgenic drought-resistant cotton and the conventional receptor cotton thereof compete with the weeds in the wasteland, and seeds cannotbe successfully bred.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention belongs to the field of agricultural technology, and relates to a new method for evaluating the survival and competitiveness of transgenic cotton wasteland in extremely arid regions. Background technique [0002] The environmental risk assessment of transgenic cotton is one of the important contents in the research and development of new transgenic cotton varieties. my country has formulated relevant standards to guide the evaluation of transgenic cotton's survival and competitiveness in barren land under natural rainfall conditions, and these technologies have also been applied in areas with abundant natural rainfall in China. However, the existing technology is difficult to apply in the extremely arid regions of my country, such as the southern and northern cotton regions of the Xinjiang Autonomous Region and the Hexi Corridor cotton region of Gansu Province, because the natural rainfall in these cotton regions is scarce in most years, ...
