The method comprises: obtaining a block access request transmitted by auser terminal for an institution product, and obtaining a block address carried by the block access request, wherein the block access request is generated by identifying a product identity identifierof the institution product based on the user terminal; acquiring a block in a product block chain based on the block address, and acquiring product authentication information of the institution product in the block, wherein the product authentication information is generated by an authentication institution terminal based on detail information of the institution product; and sending the product authentication information to the user terminal. By adopting the invention, the product authentication information of the institution product in the product block chain can be obtained through the product identity label, and the authenticity of an article or an institution is effectively ensured.
