Abstract

A method for manufacturing an occlusion device configured to treat an aneurysm is disclosed, the method comprising forming a mesh by flattening a tubular braid such that opposing portions of sidewallsof the braid are urged toward each other, placing the mesh between a first member and a second member of a forming assembly, the first member and the second member are assembled such that the mesh conforms to the first surface and the second surface of the first member and the second member, respectively, and heat is applied to the assembled forming assembly and the mesh while the mesh is held between the first member and the second member.
