Abstract

The invention relates to integrated power train compressor outlet temperature control. Provided systems, devices, and methods include vehicle system operating, and a vehicle system comprises an intakesystem connected to an internal combustion engine, the intake system is connected to a compressor and a transmission connected to the engine. Operating techniques include estimating an engine load ofthe engine by using a future horizon of vehicle operation based on current and predicted topographic information, and estimating a compressor outlet temperature of a compressor outlet based on the estimated engine load. The techniques include adjusting an engine operating state in response to the estimated compressor outlet temperature exceeding a compressor outlet temperature threshold. The engine operating state includes engine rotating speed and torque or transmission gear selection. A gear shifting starter comprises an automatic and manual gearbox, an intelligent gear shifting auxiliary system or other driver auxiliary equipment. If the estimated compressor outlet temperature is less than a threshold, gear selection of the transmission is maintained.

Background technique [0002] Charge air coolers are usually supplied to the manufacturer by third parties, and therefore their design may vary. As a result, charge air coolers can fail at different temperatures due to design changes. Additionally, charge air coolers may fail due to high compressor outlet temperatures. In one example of a charge air cooler failure, high compressor outlet temperatures can exceed 250 degrees Celsius.
