Abstract

A configurable input / output device comprises a plurality of input / output ends, a routing module and a first universal input / output channel. The input / output terminal is connected to a plurality of field devices. The input / output terminal receives a plurality of input signals from a field device and outputs a plurality of output signals to the field device. At least two of the input signals are different, at least two of the output signals are different, and at least two of the field devices are different. The routing module is connected to the input / output end. The first universal input / output channel is connected to the routing module. And the routing module controls the connection between the first general input / output channel and the input / output end.
