Abstract

The invention provides a cutting apparatus and a printing apparatus. The cutting device includes a cutter blade movable between a retracted position and a cutting position; a cutter bracket facing the cutter blade; and a first lever and a second lever operated by a user. The cutter blade performs one of a semi-cutting operation and a full-cutting operation with respect to the cutting target when located at the cutting position. The cutter carrier is movable between a full-cutting position in which the cutter blade performs a full-cutting operation and a half-cutting position in which the cutter blade performs a half-cutting operation. When the first lever is operated, the cutter blade moves to the cutting position while the cutter carriage remains at the half-cutting position. When the second lever is operated, the cutter blade moves to the cutting position and the cutter carrier moves between the full cutting position and the half cutting position. The printing apparatus includes: an accommodating portion that accommodates a cutting target; a cover; a printing unit; the cutting device is provided. The weight of the cutting device is reduced.
