Problems solved by technology

The main problems with this approach are: (a) more complex processing required, and (b) no opportunity to correct for underexposure and overexposure during exposure of the print element
Although this procedure adequately achieves the goal of eliminating the effect of chemical interimage interactions on the density of the three-color image produced by the scan, there are still problems surrounding the effect on image noise

[0182] The invention can be better understood by reference to the following specific examples. The suffix (C) refers to a control or comparative color negative film, while the suffix (E) designates an exemplary color negative film.

[0183] Unless otherwise indicated, all coating coverages in parentheses are expressed in grams per square meter and silver halide coating coverage is expressed in silver. The symbol "M%" means mole percent. ECD and t are mean particle values. Halides in mixed halide grains and latex are listed in order of increasing concentration. The gamma (r) recorded for each color is that of the characteristic curve between a point on the curve outside 0.15 densities above the minimum density (Dmin) and a point on the characteristic curve at a higher exposure value of 0.9 logE Maximum slope, where E is the exposure in lux-seconds.

Abstract

A one-time-use camera preloaded with a color negative silver halide photographic element is disclosed. The element is capable of producing images after imagewise exposure that, when developed, converted to electronic form, digitally corrected and then converted to a viewable form, exhibit excellent color, reduced granularity and improved sharpness. The photographic elements contain blue, green and red recording layer units capable of forming spectrally differentiated dye images. The layer units are substantially free of colored masking coupler, and each exhibit a dye image gamma of less than 1.5. The element exhibits an exposure latitude of at least 2.7 log E. The gamma ratios of the blue, green and red recording layer units are between 0.80 and 1.2.

Description

technical field [0001] This invention relates to a single-use camera preloaded with a color negative film intended to form an image for scanning, electronic correction and retransformation into viewable form. Background technique [0002] The term "one-time use camera" or "OTUC" is used to denote a camera provided to the user preinstalled with a light-sensitive silver halide photographic element and having a lens lens and a shutter. The terms "single-use camera", "film and lens combination", "single-use camera", etc. are also used in the field of camera technology to mean a single use, after which they are recycled and then removed Negative film for development. [0003] The term "E" is used to denote a one-second exposure in lux. [0004] The term "gamma" is used to denote the increment in image density (ΔD) produced by the increment (ΔlogE) corresponding to the logarithm of the exposure, and denotes the maximum gamma measured over the range of exposures distributed betwe...
