Abstract

A holding device includes a U-shaped base fixed on a wall and including a first protrusion and a second protrusion. A receiving space is defined between the two protrusions. The first protrusion has a hole defined in an inside thereof and a clamping member is eccentrically received in the first protrusion and a part of the clamping member is movably extended through the hole and protrudes into the receiving space. A shank of a tool is received in the receiving space and clamped by the clamping member and the second protrusion.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION [0001] The present invention relates to a holding device using an eccentric clamping member to clamp a tubular item between protrusions. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION [0002] A conventional holding device for holding shanks of tools generally includes a base with two protrusions and the shank is held between the two protrusions. Each protrusion includes a rack which is installed to an inside of the protrusion inclinedly and a clamping member having a toothed outer periphery is movably engaged with the rack such that the shank can be clamped by the clamping member. The structure is complicated and involves rack and toothed clamping member, both of which have to be made by specific machine and this makes the holding device be expensive which is not competitive in the market.
