5 results about "Intramedullary rod" patented technology

An intramedullary rod, also known as an intramedullary nail (IM nail) or inter-locking nail or Küntscher nail (without proximal or distal fixation), is a metal rod forced into the medullary cavity of a bone. IM nails have long been used to treat fractures of long bones of the body. Gerhard Küntscher is credited with the first use of this device in 1939, during World War II, for soldiers with fractures of the femur. Prior to that, treatment of such fractures was limited to traction or plaster, both of which required long periods of inactivity. IM nails resulted in earlier return to activity for the soldiers, sometimes even within a span of a few weeks, since they share the load with the bone, rather than entirely supporting the bone.

Femoral instrumentation and method of using the same in an orthopaedic surgical knee procedure

PCT designated stageWO2026146166A1Knee proceduresSurgical operation
A distal femoral jig includes an alignment guide and an outrigger component. A segmented intramedullary rod instrument may be used to install the alignment guide on a patient's femur. The alignment guide is configured to contact the distal femoral condyles of the patient's femur so as to align a distal cutting block coupled to the outrigger component. The distal femoral jig may be operated in either a mechanical alignment mode of operation or a kinematic alignment mode of operation. Methods of surgically preparing a patient's femur are also disclosed.

The invention discloses a novel extensible long intramedullary rod and a matched tool, and relates to the technical field of medical instruments, the novel extensible long intramedullary rod comprises a female rod and a male rod, one end of the female rod is provided with a fixed tip, the other end of the female rod is provided with a blind hole, the male rod is sleeved with the blind hole, the fixed tip is used for being connected with the epiphysis of the far end of a long bone, and the end of the male rod is flush with an implantation opening. And the length of the male rod sleeved into the female rod is at least 1 / 2 of the length of the female rod. The extensible long intramedullary rod can effectively fix a long bone, prevent fracture of the long bone and maintain the shape of the long bone, can gradually achieve the purpose of extension along with the growth of the bone, can better maintain the mechanical axis of the bone, has a stronger protection effect on the fracture end, is particularly suitable for being applied to special patients in the department of orthopedics of children, and has a wide application prospect. And intraoperative and postoperative protection of lower limb long bone malformation and fracture caused by osteogenesis insufficiency and congenital long bone artificial joints can be realized.

Apparatus and method for producing intramedullary rod spacer

PendingCN121647791AInternal osteosythesisIntramedullary rodCasting mold
The invention relates to an apparatus for producing an intramedullary rod spacer, to the use of a casting mold and to a method for producing an intramedullary rod spacer. An apparatus (10) for producing an intramedullary rod spacer (5) comprises a first tube (11), a second tube (12) and a flexible connection (15) for fluidly connecting the first tube (11) to the second tube (12), wherein the first tube (11) and the second tube (12) are positionable at different angles relative to each other. In this manner, the intramedullary rod spacer may be produced intraoperatively and with increased accuracy.
