Abstract

The invention discloses a personal care composition, comprising: about 5% to about 75% of an oil phase; an aqueous phase; about 0.1% to about 2% of a polymeric thickener; and a skin care active; wherein said composition comprises at least two separate phases, and after agitation and dispensation from a suitable container containing a suitable propellant, forms stable foam.

Background of the invention [0002] There is a continuing need for a personal care composition that is effective and has a pleasing look and feel. Foaming mousse compositions are the desired form of personal care compositions because they are easy to be applied and spread on the skin and provide effective distribution of active ingredients. An important aspect of the foaming mousse composition is that the dispensed foam is thick enough and can remain stable for a period of time sufficient to apply the composition. Therefore, foaming mousse compositions typically contain emulsifiers and thickeners.
