Abstract

The invention relates to a heated diesel particle filter with a zoned resistance heating unit. A heated diesel particle filter assembly comprises a diesel particle filter (DPF) and a heating unit assembly. The diesel particle filter filters particles from the discharge caused by a motor. The heating unit assembly comprises a first metal layer applied to the diesel particle filter, a resistance layer applied to the first metal layer and a second metal layer applied to the resistance layer. The second metal layer is etched so as to form multiple zones.
