Embodiment Construction

[0048] The present invention can be used to predict and measure the spatial and temporal concentration of air treatment chemicals such as insecticide active agents in ambient air based on real-time. This helps determine (i) whether the threshold concentration for repelling flying insects and / or knocking down insects has been reached, and how long it will be reached; (ii) the fate of the active agent as it migrates in the ambient air; and / Or (iii) the influence of air flow rate and temperature.

[0049] First determine the threshold concentration for driving and knocking down. For active agents that have been used for some time, this information may be publicly available. For new active agents, this can be determined by human test subjects, or in this case as Figure 4 Reported by using Figure 1~3 The knockdown test of the equipment is determined.

[0050] An example insecticide was used to knock down the Culex mosquitoes (common house mosquitoes). Such as figure 1 with 2 As s...

Abstract

Disclosed herein are methods for measuring the concentration of volatile air treatment chemicals in the air. These methods can be used to evaluate the effectiveness of, and / or optimize, dispensers that dispenses a volatile air treatment chemical into a test area. One runs side by side sampling of air using both sorbent tube and solid phase micro extraction fiber collectors to develop a correlationcurve between air treatment chemical concentration results from the sorbent tube sampling and amount readings from the SPME sampling. One then uses SPME collectors to measure in a passive manner theperformance of the volatile dispensers.

Description

[0001] Cross references to related applications [0002] This application claims priority based on U.S. Provisional Application No. 60 / 896,299 filed on March 22, 2007. [0003] Statement on Federally Funded Research / Development [0004] no. Technical field [0005] The present invention relates to a method for determining the air concentration of air treatment chemicals. The present invention specifically relates to a technique that implements the above-mentioned method in a manner that allows evaluation of the potential effectiveness of the distribution product for delivering volatile air treatment chemicals. Background technique [0006] Volatile materials are usually distributed in the air for various purposes. For example, volatile air treatment chemicals can be used for insect control, fragrance and disinfection. These chemicals are usually dispensed by various devices that use various technologies to achieve the distribution. For example, the mosquito repellent can be dispens...
