Abstract

The invention relates to an electronic device for displaying a document and a data management method. The data management method is applied to a digital media device (10) so as to manage and edit data to be displayed on the device (10). When a user tracks or marks a paragraph in a displayed document, the device (10) stores the paragraph marked by the user into a nonvolatile storage area (46). When a user inputs data at the same time of reading a document, the device (10) stores the data input by the user into the other nonvolatile storage area (48). Based on a user request, the device (10) edits and displays the marked paragraph or the data input by the user or both. Besides, the algorithm can generate a coordinate to express the position of the data input by the user in the document so as to establish a correspondence between the data input by the user and document content.
