The conveying rollers are divided at least in the range where the cutting tool is diagonally moved. A traveling path for the backup rollers of the cutting tool which are brought into contact with the lower surface of the glass ribbon is formed between the divided conveying rollers. The backup rollers are run together with the cutting tool along the traveling path by a running means at the same speed and in the same direction as the cutting tool.
