Problems solved by technology

[0007] From this situation, the granulation of CNT is also easy to imagine. Compared with carbon black whose primary particles are spherical, the crystal structure of CNT is much expanded, the surface functional groups are less, and it is tubular and fibrous, so it has a large high Wide ratio, high elasticity, and lower bulk density than carbon black, so there are big problems in granulation technology

Embodiment 1

[0102] As the thermoplastic resin for the binder, High Wax 320P (High Wax 320P, manufactured by Mitsui Chemicals Co., Ltd.) having a molecular weight of 3000 and a melting point of 109° C. was used as a low molecular weight polyethylene. As the water-insoluble solvent, xylene was used. Table 2 shows thermoplastic resins used as matrix resins.

[0103] First, the above-mentioned resin was dissolved in xylene (SP value 8.8) heated to 80° C. to 90° C. to prepare a resin binder solution containing 3% by weight of polyethylene. The liquor was filtered through round filter paper #5C, resulting in no filter residue.

[0104] Then, 50 g of CNTs of A shown in Table 1 and 4950 g of pure water were put into a 10 L stainless steel circular container, and dispersed for 30 minutes at 6000 rpm using a homogenizer type mixer. Drop a few drops of the dispersion liquid on a glass plate, use a spatula to develop the color, and look for undispersed lumps visually and with fingers. As a result, ...

Embodiment 2

[0117] Except using B shown in Table 1 as the CNT, it was carried out in the same manner as in Example 1 (see Table 3), and the DBP absorption of CNT was smaller than 265cc / 100g and smaller than A, so the amount of xylene added was 147g .

Embodiment 3

[0119] Polyvinyl chloride P454 (manufactured by V-TECH) was dissolved in methyl ethyl ketone (SP value 9.3, 29 g in 100 cc of water) at room temperature to prepare a methyl ethyl ketone solution containing 8% by weight of polyvinyl chloride. The solution was filtered using round filter paper #5C, resulting in no filter residue.

[0120] Then, the preparation method of the CNT and water dispersion liquid of A shown in Table 1 and the method and conditions of dropping methyl ethyl ketone containing polyvinyl chloride into the dispersion liquid until it was granulated were carried out in the same manner as in Example 1. However, since 156 g of methyl ethyl ketone solution was dripped, since the granular thing was not obtained, 140 g of xylene was additionally dripped and the granular thing was obtained. The drying procedure of the resin composition, the mixing and kneading procedure of the synthetic resin (base resin) shown in Table 2, the molding procedure, and the like are also...

Abstract

The invention relates to a carbon nanotube(CNT)-rich resin composition wherein CNTs are used at a high concentration and granulated to thereby largely prevent the scatter of the CNTs and considerably improve the workability such as processability and handling properties, wettability to a polymer matrix, dispersibility, electrical conductivity and mechanical properties thereof. Specifically disclosed is a CNT-rich resin composition comprising 100-1500 parts by weight of CNTs per 100 parts by weight of a thermoplastic resin, characterized in that the CNTs have been coated with the thermoplastic resin which serves as a binder.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a high-concentration mixed carbon nanotube (hereinafter referred to as CNT (Carbon Nanotube)) resin composition and a manufacturing method thereof. Background technique [0002] CNT is a carbon crystal having a diameter of several nm to about 500 nm, a length of about 10 nm to several 10 μm, a large aspect ratio, and a tubular structure. It has a wide range of types, including single-walled carbon nanotubes with a single-layer structure, multi-walled carbon nanotubes with a multi-layer structure, two-layer double-layered carbon nanotubes belonging to the category of multi-walled carbon nanotubes, etc., as well as those with closed ends. Carbon nanotubes, carbon nanotubes with only one end closed, carbon nanotubes with both ends open, and there are several types of armchair shapes in their circular processed structures. CNT manufacturing methods also include arc discharge type, catalytic gas phase manufacturing method, ...
