The over-speed protector comprises two force transmission disks connected through a rope, the two force transmission disks are sleeved on two rotating shafts respectively, an elastic component is pressed in front of each force transmission disk, a locking device is arranged in front of each elastic component and fastened on each rotating shaft, the rear end face of each force transmission disk is squeezed by a damping power disk, each damping power disk is fixedly connected with the corresponding rotating shaft, and the force transmission disks and the elastic components are in running fit with the corresponding rotating shafts. By the aid of the tension change mechanism of a soft rope rotating transmission mechanism, the ventilator can be automatically protected from over-speed; and when faults are eliminated, the over-speed protector enables a transmission device to restore the function of normal transmission of rotating force of the ventilator.
