Abstract

The invention discloses a device and a method for reducing exhaust gas emission of an engine. The device mainly comprises a hydrogen storing device, an intake hydrogen-mixing sprayer, an engine, an exhaust hydrogen-mixing sprayer, an exhaust temperature sensor, a catalytic reactor and an electronic control unit. The electronic control unit is used to collect signals of speed and load and exhaust temperature of the engine; hydrogen is sprayed into intake air of the engine in order to achieve hydrogen-mixing combustion, so that the contents of HC and CO in exhaust gas are reduced, but the emission of NOx is increased. Therefore, when the hydrogen is mixed in the exhaust gas of the engine, the good reducibility of the hydrogen can reduce the content of the NOx in the exhaust gas by the action of a catalyst at a certain temperature. Finally, the combustion in a cylinder of the engine is improved; and the emission of the HC, CO and NOx of vehicles is reduced, thereby achieving the purposes of energy conservation and emission reduction.
