Abstract

A layer multiplication device (100) may include a housing (102A, 102B) and at least one layer multiplication insert (106) positioned inside the housing (102A, 102B). The housing (102A, 102B) may have an inlet (108) configured to receive a flow stream, an outlet (110) configured to discharge the flow stream, and a flow cavity (112) extending between the inlet (108) and the outlet (110). In operation, the layer multiplication insert (106) may divide an incoming flow stream so as to multiply the flow stream into at least a first flow stream and a second flow stream. In some examples, the inlet (108) provides an inlet flow volume equal to a cross-sectional area of the housing (102A, 102B) at the inlet (108) multiplied by a length of the flow cavity (112), the flow cavity (112) defines a cavity flow volume, and the cavity flow volume is equal to or greater than the inlet flow volume.
