Abstract

Embodiments of the invention provide a message processing method in the process of PPPoE authentication and a piece of related equipment. A first BAS exists in a broadcast domain where a user terminal is located, and the first BAS supports PPPoE and corresponds to a first operator. A BAS supporting PPPoE and corresponding to a second operator also exists in the broadcast domain where the user terminal is located. The method comprises the following steps: the first BAS receives a PADI message sent by the user terminal; and the first BAS does not send a PADO message to the user terminal in a preset period of time when determining that the number of times the user terminal fails to be authenticated on the first BAS is greater than a preset threshold.
