Abstract

The invention discloses a channel state information (CSI) feedback report for a multi-cell downlink cooperative network. In these networks, when a user equipment (UE) has little uplink data traffic, CSI feedback is triggered by a downlink grant to the UE by the serving base station. The UE detects a CSI feedback trigger placed in a downlink grant by the base station and selects a set of uplink resources based at least in part on the downlink grant.
