Abstract

The present invention provides a LED driving device and a method of improving current harmonic distortion of LED driving device. The LED driving device is configured to drive a plurality of LED modules and comprises a multistage linear LED driver, a first current compensation device and a second current compensation device. The multistage linear LED driver is coupled with the LED modules, and selectively provides a first LED module flowing the first path of a first fixed current to the LED modules or provides a second current module flowing the second path of a second fixed current to the first LED module and the plurality of LED modules. When the first path is provided, the first current compensation device is configured to flow a first compensation current and when the second path is provided, the first current compensation device stop to flow the first compensation current. When the second path is provided, the second current compensation device is configured to flow a second compensation current. The present invention is able to improve the harmonic distortion of the current of the flowed LED driving device, increase the use ratio of the LED and enhance the integrated light output and the power factors.
