The present invention discloses a method and system for detection of switching an operating mode of a watch under water. The method comprises: confirming that a watch is in a worn state; confirming that the watch is immersed into water, and starting an action sensor; determining that an action amplitude of the watch within preset time is smaller than or equal to a preset threshold by means of the action sensor, and prompting a user to perform wearing confirmation; if wearing confirmation information is not received, sending notification information to a management-end device; and sending out an early-warning, and switching from a normal wearing detection mode to a power-saving mode. According to the method and system disclosed by the present invention, after it is detected that the watch is under water, assistant determination is performed by using the action sensor, and when it is detected that the user has no actions within certain time, and when the confirmation information is not received after prompting the user, the early-warning is sent out and the management-end device is informed automatically for help, and the power-saving mode is switched to so as to enhance the endurance ability of the watch, so that detection of the watch under water in such an environment is achieved, the wearing detection scenario of intelligent watches is broadened, and user experience is improved.
