Abstract
An aerosol generating system comprising: a liquid storage portion (20) comprising a rigid housing (24) containing a liquid aerosol-forming substrate, the housing having an opening; and a fluid permeable heater An assembly (30) comprising a plurality of conductive filaments, wherein the fluid permeable heater assembly is secured to the housing and extends across the opening of the housing. Providing a heater assembly extending across the opening of the liquid storage portion allows a relatively simple robust structure to be manufactured. This arrangement allows for a larger contact area between the heater assembly and the liquid aerosol-forming substrate. The heater assembly may be substantially flat, allowing for ease of manufacture.
