Abstract

Embodiments of the invention disclose a proximity detection method and device as well as a terminal. The proximity detection method is applied to the terminal. The terminal comprises a display screen, a shell and a temperature sensor, wherein a function hole is arranged in a frame of the shell, and the temperature sensor is contained in the function hole. The proximity detection method comprises the following steps of obtaining a first temperature value through the temperature sensor when the terminal is detected to be in a call state; judging whether the first temperature value is within a preset temperature range, wherein the preset temperature range is a temperature range of a human body surface; and if the first temperature value is judged to be within the preset temperature range, controlling the display screen of the terminal to enter a dormant state. According to the embodiments of the invention, the temperature sensor is utilized to replace a proximity detector to realize proximity detection, and the temperature sensor can be arranged on the frame of the terminal other than on the display screen, so that the occupation of the area of the display screen can be reduced, and thus the screen occupation ratio of the display screen can be increased.
