Abstract

The method includes: a network side determines the delay requirement of data transmitted on each logical channel based on a service; and a buffer status reporting trigger mechanism is configured according to the delay requirement. After receiving the buffer status report triggering mechanism configured on the network side, a terminal side triggers buffer status report according to the buffer status report triggering mechanism. With the method and the apparatus, transmission delay requirements of various services can be satisfied. Especially in 5G NR, the requirements for high reliability and low latency of services can be met. When new uplink data arrives, the buffer status is updated with a lower delay to shorten the uplink transmission delay.
