The present application relates generally to the field of catheter technology. More particularly, the present application relates to catheters and catheter systems comprising catheters and medical devices to be introduced into said catheters. An embodiment of a catheter includes: an elongated body including a distal tip; a lumen disposed within the elongated body including a lumen opening disposed at the elongated body; and one or more sensors laterally disposed at the elongated body. The elongated body includes an at least partially curved portion at which at least one of the one or more sensors is disposed.
