Problems solved by technology

[0011] Some types of medical procedures (e.g., magnetic resonance imaging) may require magnetic and / or radio frequency (RF) shielding of life support equipment, removal of magnetic materials from the vicinity of the infant being imaged, and / or the addition of elements to the infant's environment (e.g. , RF coil), thereby causing further disturbance to the infant's environment

Embodiment Construction

[0085] figure 1 is a diagram illustrating a system 100 for containing and transporting an infant for imaging, according to an illustrative embodiment of the invention. The system 100 may include a first incubator (e.g., a capsule incubator) 110, a cart 120, a second incubator (e.g., a dock (dock, dock) incubator) 130, and an imaging device (e.g., an MRI device) 140.

[0086] During operation, an infant (not shown) lies within the capsule incubator 110 . Capsule incubator 110 may be located within docking incubator 130 , attached to cart 120 , or within MRI apparatus 140 . In some embodiments, capsule incubator 110 is located at any desired location (eg, other imaging devices, examination table, and / or operating table).

[0087] Capsule incubator 110 may be moved via cart 120 between docked incubator 130 and MRI apparatus 140 (or to any desired location). When the infant is moved from the docking incubator 130 to a desired location via the stroller 120 and the capsule incub...

Abstract

Systems and method for positioning a neonate within an imaging device are provided. A capsule incubator, a cart, and a docking incubator are used to move a baby between an imaging device and a incubator, such that a baby can be imagined without having to move the baby from its environment.
