The technicalproblem to be solved is to provide a kiwifruit expanded fruit detecting method and device which is low in cost and simple in operation. The method and system for realizing the detection of the kiwifruit expanded fruit are constructed by using the digital image processing technology. Obtaining an image of a kiwifruit pedicle side under a natural light through a smart phone; segmenting a pedicle part from the obtained image using a specific image processing method; and calculating an aspect ratio of the smallest circumscribed rectangle, and giving a judgment result whether the kiwifruit is an expanded fruit or not according to the aspect ratio of the smallest circumscribed rectangle. The invention can realize the non-destructive detection of the kiwifruit expanded fruit quickly, conveniently and at low cost, and provides a decision basis for the consumer.
