Abstract

The invention provides a method of high yield cultivation of wild rice shoots in a tropic region. The method comprises the following steps of: (1) variety selection and wild rice shoot seed screening:adopting the double cropping wild rice shoots, (2) seedling raising: cutting off overground parts, storing seed wild rice shoot stumps with soil in a refrigerator at 0-5 DEG C for 1-3 months, takingthe seed wild rice shoot stumps out for seedling raising, (3) wild rice shoot field selection and base fertilizer treatment: applying 3-4 ton pig manure or chicken manure and 8-10kg three-nutrient compound fertilizer per mu before field planting, (4) field planting: performing shallow water irrigation before the field planting and planting at density of 1100-1300 wild rice shoots per mu, row spaceof 0.8-1.2m and planting distance of 0.4-0.6m, (5) field management: drying a field for a week a week after the field planting, performing the shallow water irrigation and drying the field separatelyfor a week, performing deep water irrigation till harvesting, and spraying 472.5g of fenaminosulf per mu for twice per week, (6) disease and pest control, and (7) timely harvesting.
