Embodiment Construction

[0044] Such as figure 1 As shown in , the process starts with a first step a). In a first step a), at least the local fluid velocity in the valve is measured. This is preferably implemented by using the first sensor 18 . The second step can be broken down into two options. The first option of the second step bl uses a second sensor 20 which measures a predetermined temperature of the fluid in the valve. In option b2 (second option of the second step), the third sensor 31 measures the valve position of the valve 12 in addition to the temperature of the fluid. In a third step c, the flow rate through the valve 12 is determined from the measured local fluid velocity in step a) and the measured parameter in step b1) or b2). The flow rate through valve 12 can also be calculated by applying an appropriate characteristic map and / or an appropriate equation. This equation may additionally include one or more correction factors that take into account the current piping system or th...

Abstract

The invention relates to flow measurement in valves with thermal correction. Measurement of a flow rate of a predetermined fluid through a valve (12) is disclosed. A local fluid velocity is measured in the valve (12) with a first sensor (18). In the next step, either a temperature of the predetermined fluid in the valve (12) is measured or the temperature of the fluid in the valve (12) is measured together with a valve position of the valve (12). Determination of a flow rate through the valve (12) involves the measured local fluid velocity as well as the subsequently measured parameters. The present disclosure also provides a valve device (10) that comprises a first sensor (18) and a second sensor (20) to conduct the flow rate determination. A compact valve device (10) can be provided that is able to perform a more precise flow rate determination.

Description

technical field [0001] This patent application describes a method for measuring the flow rate of a predetermined fluid through a valve. Furthermore, this document describes a valve arrangement with a valve connectable to a piping system. Background technique [0002] If the mass flow rate or volume flow rate through a pipe within a pipe system should be measured, in most cases a sensor is applied. This sensor is usually only capable of measuring a certain portion of the fluid flow. This means that the sensor does not measure the total flow rate through the pipe or valve. It measures only a local amount of fluid flow within the pipe. [0003] There are several aspects that affect the measured quantity of a sensor. Therefore, the measured quantity of the sensor is usually not representative of the total flow rate through the pipe. The following aspects influence, for example, the measured quantity of the sensor and the conversion of the measured quantity into the total fl...
