Abstract

A method in a user equipment (UE) for determining a transmission data block size is provided. The method includes: obtaining parameters for data transmission, the parameters including at least the number of layers, the number of allocated resource blocks, modulation order and code rate; determining the effective number of resource elements; based on the obtained parameters and the determined An effective number of resource elements is used to determine a transport block size; and one of transmitting and receiving data is performed based on the determined transport block size.
