Abstract

A method for regeneration of a NOx storage catalytic converter of an exhaust aftertreatment device of an internal combustion engine arrangement, the method comprising the steps of: detecting a shutdown of an internal combustion engine; determining a load of the NOx storage catalytic converter; determining a current operating temperature of the exhaust aftertreatment device; if the determined loadexceeds a fixed threshold and the determined current operating temperature exceeds a fixed threshold, regenerating the NOx storage catalytic converter after closure of the internal combustion engine,the exhaust valve is closed and the exhaust gas is directed through the low pressure exhaust gas recirculation flow passage, fresh air and exhaust gas recirculated via the low-pressure exhaust gas recirculation flow channel are conducted to the NOx storage catalytic converter via the high-pressure exhaust gas recirculation flow channel by means of an electrically driven supercharger and are simultaneously heated, and mixing a mixture of fresh air and recirculated exhaust gas with the vaporized fuel upstream of the NOx storage catalytic converter to form a rich air-fuel mixture.
